Gazprom Neft sees moderate growth of proven, probable hydrocarbon reserves in 2024
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Gazprom Neft saw moderate growth of 2P (proven + probable) hydrocarbon reserves in 2024.
The company's reserves are audited to PRMS and SEC standards, the Russian oil company said in a draft annual report prepared for its annual shareholder meeting, without specifying the size of the increase.
Gazprom Neft said it develops its resource base primarily through organic growth of reserves at existing assets and geological exploration in new prospecting areas. The key factor that enabled the company to increase its resource base was the improvement of exploration technology and production drilling, the report said.
The company said its main achievements in 2024 included the discovery of the Nezhdanny Mys field in Tomsk Region with in-place hydrocarbon reserves of about 30 million tonnes, which was the biggest discovery in the region in five years. The field is average in terms of initial recoverable hydrocarbon reserves and very difficult in terms of geological structure.
The company is continuing the exploration program for Zima projects in Khanty Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra, in the course of which it confirmed a reliable resource base at the eponymous production cluster.
In Eastern Siberia, the company is actively developing the Chona project, where it drilled six oil production wells and seven gas wells in 2024. In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Gazprom Nefit is beginning to study the Vostochno-Terelskaya group of fields and on the Yamal Peninsula it is implementing the Yuzhny Yamal project.
Gazprom Neft carried out 430 square km of 3D seismic surveys onshore and in the waters of the Gulf of Ob in 2024. It estimated the resource base based on the results of the interpretation of the data. The optimal location for an exploration well was confirmed.
Gazprom Neft increased hydrocarbon production by 5.3% to a record 126.9 million tonnes of oil equivalent in 2024.
