Kazakhstan's KazTransOil doubles export tariffs for MunayTas pipeline

ALMATY. May 20 (Interfax) - The export tariff for Northwest Pipeline Company MunayTas LLP has been set at 11,300 tenge per tonne per 1,000 km excluding VAT, replacing the previous tariff of 5,910 tenge, KazTransOil said in a press release.

The increased tariff, effective May 19, 2025, reflects the need to transition to a more economically justified pricing model, the company said.

"As part of optimization of its tariff policy, KazTransOil has conducted a comprehensive review of the export tariff for Northwest Pipeline Company MunayTas LLP along the Kenkiyak-Atyrau oil pipeline in order to align the tariff with the transportation terms and conditions of KazTransOil," it said.

Most of MunayTas' transportation volumes are directed towards the domestic market, while the new tariff applies exclusively to export routes, it said.

Northwest Pipeline Company MunayTas LLP is a joint venture between KazTransOil (51%) and CNPC Exploration and Development Company Ltd. (49%).

JSC KazTransOil, part of the national company KazMunayGas, is Kazakhstan's national trunk pipeline operator. KazTransOil owns a pipeline network 5,400 km in length.

The official exchange rate on May 20 is 510.78 tenge per $1.
