Russia's Energy Ministry proposes extending ban on non-producers exporting gasoline for Sept-Oct, govt likely to support this

MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Russia's Energy Ministry has proposed extending the ban on non-producers exporting gasoline, which is valid until the end of August, for September-October, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

Novak said that the matter was discussed at the main offices for petroleum products last week. "We discussed this. There is a proposal from the Energy Ministry to extend it [the ban] for September and October, with all participants at the main offices supporting it. The Energy Ministry will now submit the proposals. I think that the government will consider them, and there will likely not be any particular objections. However, the ban only applies to non-producers," he said.

As reported, the government in early March 2025 extended the previously effective ban on non-producers exporting motor gasoline until August 31, 2025. The restriction does not apply to supplies from companies that produce petroleum products.
