Pope open to idea of organizing Russia-Ukraine talks in Vatican
ROME. May 16 (Interfax) - Pope Leo XIV is ready to host Russia-Ukraine talks, if necessary, Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin said on Friday.
"As I understand, we are talking here about the Vatican hosting a meeting between the sides. So that they at least talk to each other," Italian television quoted him as saying.
"The Vatican could become a suitable venue. Confidentiality [of the negotiation process] can be ensured here," he said.
