Switzerland joins EU sanctions against Belarus
MINSK. May 15 (Interfax) - Switzerland has joined the EU sanctions against Belarus, the press service for the Swiss Federal Council said.
"The Federal Council has also decided to adopt these sanctions, which include stricter export restrictions and a ban on imports of Belarusian primary aluminum," the press service said.
"The intention is to further harmonize sanctions against Belarus with the existing sanctions against Russia, among other things in order to prevent the latter from being circumvented," it said.
Swiss restrictions on Belarus take effect on May 15.
