RDIF discussing joint investment fund with Malaysian sovereign wealth fund - Dmitriev
MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is discussing the potential creation of a joint investment fund with Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund.
"The RDIF is in active dialogue with Khazanah sovereign wealth fund on the potential creation of a Russian-Malaysian investment fund," RDIF chief Kirill Dmitriev said on Telegram.
He said priority areas for cooperation included tourism, energy, including nuclear, digital and financial infrastructure development and cybersecurity.
Special emphasis is being placed on infrastructure projects like ports, railways and transport hubs, Dmitriev said.
"We are discussing the pairing of Russian and Malaysian logistics routes as a driver of mutual trade," he said.
He also said that together with Malaysian bodies, the RDIF was providing support to companies from both countries keen to enter each other's markets.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Moscow on Wednesday. Dmitriev, who is also the special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation, took part in them.
