U.S. Department of Agriculture forecasts Russian wheat export in current season at 45 mln tonnes, harvest at 83 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has published its first outlooks for grain harvest and export in the new marketing year of July 2025 to June 2026, according to which Russia will maintain world wheat market leadership, harvesting 83 million tonnes and exporting 45 million tonnes.

The export forecast for Russia's closest competitor, the EU, is 34 million tonnes, the USDA said in its latest report, published Monday.

Russia's wheat harvest in the 2024/2025 MY ending on June 30 is estimated at 81.6 million tonnes and exports at 43.5 million tonnes.

The harvest forecast for Russian feed grain is 37.73 million tonnes in the new MY, up from 34.78 million tonnes in 2024/2025. The export forecast increased from 7.05 million tonnes to 7.58 million tonnes.

The corn harvest forecast rises to 15 million tonnes from 14 million tonnes and exports to 3.6 million tonnes from 3.3 million tonnes.

The USDA forecasts do not include data for Crimea and new territories.

The global wheat export forecast is 808.52 million tonnes, feed grain is 1.55 billion tonnes and corn 1.265 billion tonnes.
