Rada ratifies investment fund agreement with U.S., known also as minerals deal
MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has said he expects Ukraine and the United States will complete all technicalities on setting up the Reconstruction Investment Fund in the near future.
"Thanks to the Ukrainian people's deputies for ratifying the agreement with the U.S. on setting up the Reconstruction Investment Fund. Together, we have made an important step toward our economic recovery, making Ukraine stronger, and enhancing the people's wellbeing," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.
"We expect to complete all technical work in the near future and start a new phase of cooperation with our American partners," he said.
The Rada ratified the agreement between the Ukrainian and the U.S. governments on setting up the Reconstruction Investment Fund, known also as a deal on minerals, rare earths, and natural resources, on May 8. The agreement was signed on May 1 following a lengthy period of negotiations.
