Azerbaijan, Carlsberg sign memorandum on localizing raw materials, packaging materials
BAKU. May 6 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry and the local subsidiary of Danish brewer Carlsberg Group, Carlsberg Azerbaijan have signed a memorandum of understanding for 2025-2030, the ministry reported.
The document was signed after a meeting between Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and representatives of Carlsberg Group at which they discussed the group's activities in Azerbaijan, support for investment and expanding local production, the ministry said.
"The implementation of the memorandum will facilitate the localization of raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring completely local production and environmental protection," the ministry said.
Carlsberg Azerbaijan's brewery, which is located in Khirdalan, 10 km from Baku, has capacity to produce 80 million liters per year. The company has about 250 employees. Its portfolio includes brands such as Xirdalan, Carlsberg, Baltika, Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc and Seth&Riley`s Garage.
