Norway to contribute further NOK 2.4 bln to World Bank's trust fund for Ukraine
MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax) - Norway is providing a new contribution of NOK 2.4 billion to the World Bank's Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF), a multi-donor trust fund for Ukraine, the Norwegian government said in a statement on its website.
"Norway's increased support to the World Bank's Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Fund will help to ensure that critical services such as education, health care and energy supplies can be sustained," Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said.
"This year alone, Norway will be providing NOK 85 billion to Ukraine. Reform efforts and institution-building are priority areas under the multi-donor trust fund," Norway's Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg said.
According to the statement, Norway provided its first contribution of approximately NOK 1 billion in 2022 and has now provided over NOK 9 billion to the URTF - more than one-third of the total funding secured.
