Kazakhstan, Turkish central banks sign currency swap agreement

ALMATY. April 23 (Interfax) - The governors of the central banks of Kazakhstan and Turkey, Timur Suleimenov and Fatih Karahan, have signed a bilateral currency swap agreement for the Kazakh tenge and Turkish lira, the National Bank of Kazakhstan said.

The agreement will simplify mutual settlements between the two countries and reduce currency risks as well as boost trade.

Kazakhstan and Turkey aim to increase their bilateral trade to $10 billion.
