Council of CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to meet in Bishkek in May - Russian Duma speaker
MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - The Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold a session in Bishkek in May, Russian State Duma speaker and CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"A session of the Council of the CSTO PA will take place in Bishkek in May," Volodin told journalists.
Its participants will discuss steps to align laws on countering challenges and threats to collective security.
Volodin also said that representatives of the parliaments of the Commonwealth of Independent States member countries will meet on the sidelines of the Great Heritage-Common Future international forum, due to take place in Volgograd in late April under the auspices of the Russia-Belarus Union State. Its participants will discuss measures to safeguard and protect collective historical memory.
Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of Russia and Belarus will attend the forum, he said. Representatives of the parliaments of China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cuba, Slovakia and Serbia have also been invited to the event.
