Russia's Agroeco Group begins packaged product shipments to Georgia
VORONEZH. April 16 (Interfax) - Agroeco Group, one of Russia's largest pork producers, has completed its first shipment of consumer and industrial packaged products to Georgia, the group's press service said.
The initial shipment exceeded 7 tonnes of meat products, including pork neck steaks, sausages, stew meat, minced meat, loin, belly, ribs and marbled pork.
The frequency and volume of deliveries are currently under discussion.
Agroeco has been exporting to Georgia since 2022. It previously shipped only live pigs to the country.
To ensure regular supplies, company representatives held meetings with Georgian retail chains and restaurant industry representatives.
In 2023, the group exported 27,700 tonnes of products in total. Key export markets included Belarus, Georgia and Armenia. The year 2024 saw the company's first shipments to Congo, India and Serbia.
Agroeco Group ranks as Russia's sixth largest pork producer and seventh largest animal feed manufacturer. The holding comprises 49 pig farms, two breeding centers, four feed mills, a crop farming cluster, transport companies, a dairy farm, a meat processing plant and a retail chain. The total workforce exceeds 9,000 employees across production facilities in the Voronezh and Tula regions.
