Yandex buys Boxberry delivery service

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - Yandex has announced the purchase of the Boxberry delivery service.

It is anticipated that "the technical and operational integration of the two companies will be complete by the end of 2025," the web company said in a press release.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition of Boxberry will allow Yandex to grow its client base and geographical reach of logistics and e-commerce services. Boxberry's logistics infrastructure will become part of Yandex's infrastructure.

"Collection points for Yandex deliveries and the Yandex Delivery service will become available in more than 20 regions in different parts of the country, including Siberia and the Far East. In places where Yandex already operates, more collection points will be opened," the company said in the press release.

The Yandex press service told Interfax that Yandex Delivery entities were buying 100% of Boxberry Soft LLC and Smart Logistic LLC. Assets related to international logistics operations are not part of the deal.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Smart Logistic LLC is wholly owned by Vladimir Teplyukov, who also owns 45% of Boxberry Soft LLC, the other owners being Veronika Tagunova with 30% and Konstantin Astafyev with 25%.

Boxberry Soft LLC increased revenue 1.7% in 2024 to 2.25 billion rubles and had losses of 198 million rubles. Smart Logistics LLC increased revenue 4.8% to 499 million rubles and had losses of 13.5 million rubles.

Boxberry has been in operation since 2010, developing a delivery service for online shops and private individuals. The company says on its website that it has more than 4,000 branches in 640 locations.

The Yandex logistics chain has over 14,000 collection points and more than 60 sorting centers.
