Gas transit from Russia to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan totals 5.6 bcm in 2024, 7.3 bcm planned for 2025
ASTANA. April 11 (Interfax) - Transit of Russian gas through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan totaled 5.6 billion cubic meters in 2024 and around 7.3 bcm is planned for 2025, Kazakh Deputy Energy Minister Alibek Zhamauov said.
"Transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan was launched in October 2023, with 5.6 bcm transited in 2024 and around 7.3 bcm planned for 2025 with a further increase to 11 bcm per year," Zhamauov said on Friday at the Energy Trends forum.
It had been expected that transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan would total 3.8 bcm in 2024, and 1.28 bcm of Russian gas were transited in 2023.
Supplies of Russian gas to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan are planned to rise nearly fourfold to 11 bcm per year as of 2026.
