Yerevan denies preparations for Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani meeting in Moscow in May

YEREVAN. April 11 (Interfax) - Nazeli Baghdasaryan, press secretary for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has denied Armenian media reports about preparations for a trilateral meeting of Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Moscow.

"There is no meeting planned for May 9 in the Pashinyan-Putin-Aliyev trilateral format," Baghdasaryan told the state-run news agency Armenpress.

The Zhoghovurd newspaper said earlier on Friday, citing its sources, that Putin would meet with Pashinyan and Aliyev in Moscow on May 9 before the Red Square parade.

"An agreement on signing a document in Almaty by Armenia and Azerbaijan will be reached at the meeting," the newspaper said.

The Kremlin said earlier that Pashinyan confirmed in a phone call with Putin on March 14 that he had accepted Putin's invitation and would take part in the events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Moscow on May 9.
