Switzerland to provide Moldova with 420 mln euros for economic development, social projects
CHISINAU. April 10 (Interfax) - Switzerland has launched a cooperation program in Moldova for 2025-2028 with a budget of 420 million euros, Deputy Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Didier Chassot said during the program's presentation on Thursday in Chisinau.
"Moldova and Switzerland are small European states that share many common interests. In the context of the tense international situation, our parliament recently approved the Swiss Strategy for International Cooperation for the 2025-2028 period, which sets priorities in development and economic cooperation, humanitarian aid, the promotion of human rights, and the well-being of the elderly," Chassot was quoted as saying by the state agency Moldpres.
Moldovan Government Secretary of State Anna Kalinic in turn highlighted the ongoing implementation of Swiss cooperation programs in all regions of the country since 1992, during which Moldova has received more than 300 million euros from Switzerland.
As part of the program, the funds will be directed towards supporting economic reforms in Moldova, financing social projects, healthcare and local public administration.
