Kazakhstan exceeds OPEC+ quota in March, intends to fulfill commitments in April, in negotiations with oil companies on trimming output
ASTANA. April 10 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan exceeded the quota for oil output as per the OPEC+ deal in March, though the country plans to fulfill its commitments in April and is negotiating with oil producing companies, the Energy Ministry told Interfax.
"Kazakhstan was unable to achieve its goal in March and exceeded its commitments under the OPEC+ agreement. [...] In April, we plan to fulfill our commitments and compensate for part of the overproduced volumes," the ministry said in response to a request.
Meantime, the ministry assured that Kazakhstan remains committed to the agreement and its obligations and "continues to hold negotiations with oil producing companies."
"The circle of subsoil users for which oil production may be reduced is currently being determined," the Ministry of Energy added.
