Uzbekistan joins EADB

TASHKENT. April 10 (Interfax) - The law on Uzbekistan's accession to the agreement establishing the Eurasian Development Bank (EADB), signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has come into force.

Its text was published in the country's parliamentary newspapers on Thursday.

The law was adopted on January 21 by the Legislative Chamber and approved in March by the Senate, the lower and upper chambers of the Uzbek parliament, respectively.

Speaking at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in St. Petersburg in December last year, Mirziyoyev announced the country's readiness to join the EADB in early 2025.

Uzbekistan has held observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union since 2020.

The EADB is an international development bank with charter capital of $7 billion. Its shareholders are Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
