Caspian Pipeline Consortium resumes oil shipments from SPM-1, previously halted following inspection

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has put into operation the single point mooring unit (SPU) No. 1, previously stopped following an inspection by supervisory authorities.

"In accordance with a decision by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, following the results of a spot check, the SPM CPC-1 (RS 010784) class has been restored. The SPM CPC-1 has been put into operation. Oil shipments are being carried out via the SPM CPC-1 and SPM CPC-3," the consortium said in a statement.

The resumption of SPM-2 operations will be announced separately.
