Russia, U.S. to meet for 2nd round of consultations in Istanbul within days to address work of diplomatic missions - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax) - Russian and U.S. diplomats will meet for a second round of consultations within the next few days to address the normalization of the work of their diplomatic missions, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"A second round of Russian-American consultations will take place within the next few days to address the normalization of the functioning of the two countries' diplomatic missions," Zakharova told journalists.
"The venue, the expert format, and the composition of the meeting participants remain the same. The consultations will be held in Istanbul," she said.
"As before, the Russian delegation is to be headed by Alexander Darchiyev, this time around as Russia's ambassador to the U.S., and the American by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter. The rest of the participants are also Russian and U.S. foreign policy officials," she said.
The consultations participants "will continue the substantive work that is currently underway to eliminate numerous technical obstacles hindering routine activities of diplomats from both countries," she said.
