BAIKONUR. April 8 (Interfax) - The Soyuz MS-27 spaceship with a Russian-U.S. crew has reached the International Space Station (ISS) and docked with the Prichal module, according to Roscosmos stream.
The Soyuz MS-27 docked with the Prichal module of the Russian segment. It took a two-orbit shortcut to the station.
Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexei Zubritsky and NASA astronaut Jonathan Kim are aboard the spaceship.
A Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle coupled with the Soyuz MS-27 blasted off from the Baikonur Area 31 at 8:47 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to Roscosmos, the expedition will stay in orbit for 245 days. The mission includes two spacewalks and over 40 scientific experiments under the Russian program.
Kim is going to the ISS under the Russian-U.S. cross flights agreement.
Roscosmos and NASA signed the cross flights agreement in July 2022 to envisage flights of Russian cosmonauts by U.S. Crew Dragon spacecraft and flights of U.S. astronauts by Russian Soyuz MS spaceships.
