Agriculture in Russia's new regions to receive 7.3 bln rubles in state support in 2025 - Agriculture Ministry
ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 7 (Interfax) - State support for agriculture and related industries in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will total 7.3 billion rubles this year, Deputy Agriculture Minister Andrei Razin said.
"The volume of state support will continue to grow. For 2025, the total amount of state support for all four federal subjects will be 7.3 billion rubles. That's more than in 2024. Our goal is to integrate the new federal subjects into all state programs currently operating in other regions of Russia," Razin said at the Integration-2025: Prospects for the Development of Russia's Historic Regions forum on Saturday.
The food industry is developed in the new territories, with over 300 enterprises operating, he said. Last year, almost all sectors posted growth in production.
"A major issue for the new regions is the involvement of agricultural land in turnover. Currently, the sown area exceeds 3 million hectares, but there is still land that lacks legal status. Therefore, our task is to legalize all property relations in the territory of the new subjects and register citizens' rights," he said.
A duty-free export regime for agricultural products is currently in effect in the new regions.
"We've maintained the duty-free export quotas for this year. We see this as a strong support measure that makes the new regions' agricultural products attractive for our traders. We'll see how this year plays out. Perhaps next year we'll consider extending this support measure if there's a continued need," he said.
The Integration-2025: Prospects for the Development of Russia's Historic Regions forum was held in Rostov-on-Don on April 4-5.
