Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing statistics
MOSCOW. April 7 (Interfax) - Arrivals in Ukraine grew 11.4% between March 29 and April 4, from 237,000 to 264,000, Ukrainian media said, citing statistical data from the State Border Guard Service.
Departures decreased by 11.8%, from 254,000 to 237,000, in the reporting period, the media said.
The number of vehicles that crossed border checkpoints last week decreased from 124,000 to 122,000, whereas the number of humanitarian trucks increased from 546 to 625.
No vehicles were lining up at checkpoints on Ukraine's western border on Sunday, the State Border Guard Service said.
The National Bank of Ukraine estimated the outflow from Ukraine at 0.5 million people in 2024 in its January inflation report (versus 0.315 million reported by the State Border Guard Service). In absolute terms, the number of Ukrainian migrants staying abroad increased to 6.8 million in 2024. The National Bank confirmed the outflow forecast for 2025 at 0.2 million.
An update from the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees says there were 6.933 million Ukrainian refugees worldwide, including 6.373 million in Europe, as of March 20, 2025, or 26,000 more than on February 19.
The latest UN update estimates the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.665 million.
