Ukrainian civil servants fluent in English to get bonus
MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a procedure for assigning and paying a 10% bonus to civil servants fluent in English.
The resolution dated April 1 endorses a bonus of 10% of the salary for civil servants with the English proficiency level of at least B2 (Upper-Intermediate) according to the Council of Europe's CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
The bonus will be paid for the actual time worked and only after providing supporting documents within the limits of public funds assigned for paying salaries to respective government agencies, it said.
The resolution comes into force on the day of termination or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine and will be valid for four years.
As reported earlier, the government has approved a list of positions in tax, customs and law enforcement agencies, the Armed Forces, and civil service of B and C categories, applicants for which are required to be fluent in English. The provisions will take effect four years after the end or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine.

These include heads of local administrations and their deputies, military personnel serving under contract, police officers, heads of state-run research centers, heads of higher educational establishments, employees working the field of education and science, and some other categories.
