Energy equipment production facility to be established in southern Moscow with city's support

MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - A Moscow-based company will launch production lines in southern Moscow for manufacturing switchgear for power plants and products for renewable energy using a preferential investment loan, the head of Moscow's Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov said.

"With support from the Moscow Industrial and Entrepreneurial Support Fund, a local energy equipment manufacturer has secured a preferential investment loan of about 1.5 billion rubles. These funds were used to acquire a 25,000 square meter production complex in the Biryulyovo Vostochnoye district," Garbuzov was quoted as saying in a statement published on the portal of the Moscow mayor and local authorities on Tuesday.

Additional workshops will be opened there to produce uninterruptible power supplies, electric vehicle charging stations and converters for renewable energy sources, Garbuzov said.

In total, Moscow enterprises attracted around 120 billion rubles in 2024 for production development through preferential investment loans. In 2025, the maximum preferential investment loan amount in Moscow has been increased from 3 billion to 5 billion rubles, with the preferential lending term extended from three to five years. The subsidy covers 50% of the key rate set by the Central Bank of Russia.
