VK appoints vice president for AI Frolov as chief technology officer

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Anton Frolov has been appointed chief technology officer (CTO) of VK Group, having previously served as vice president for AI, content and recommendation services, the company said.

In his new role as the group's CTO, Frolov will oversee the development and implementation of the holding's technological strategy, as well as the creation and scaling of IT solutions for all VK products.

At the same time, Frolov will continue leading AI development, cloud platforms, advertising, and search and recommendation technologies, while also supervising data center operations to ensure uninterrupted service performance, it said.

Anton Frolov developed Yandex Translate and Yandex Search from 2014. In 2018, he joined Yandex Zen's team, rising from CTO to CEO within three years. In 2023, Frolov was appointed VK's vice president for AI, content and recommendation services.
