Central Bank of Russia ranks Ozon Bank among most important on payment services market, excludes MTS Bank
MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia has included Ozon Bank in its list of most important banks on the payment services market, the regulator reported on its website.
The Central Bank removed MTS Bank from the list, as well as Ak Bars Bank , Asian-Pacific Bank, Center-Invest Bank , Rosbank , part of T-Bank since January 1, and Bank Otkritie Financial Corporation , now part of VTB . As such, the number of organizations on the list fell from 23 to 18.
The regulator adds banks who provide the most payment services to its special register. When deciding which to deem important, the Central Bank considers the number of credit and debit cards issued, operations carried out with them, money transfers, active ATMs and card payment machines.
All systemically important banks are automatically deemed important on the payment services market, except Rosbank and Bank Otkritie Financial Corporation.
There are currently 13 banks on the systemically important banks list: Sberbank , VTB, Alfa-Bank, T-Bank, Russian Agriculture Bank, Gazprombank , Sovcombank , Promsvyazbank , Credit Bank of Moscow , Rosbank, Bank Otkritie Financial Corporation, Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit Bank.
Apart from 11 of the systemically important banks and Ozon Bank, the list of important banks on the payment services market includes the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development), Bank Saint Petersburg, , Post Bank, Russian National Commercial Bank, Russian Standard Bank and Mobile Card Non-banking credit organization.
