Russia's Ruscon, S. Korea's Sunsko to develop multimodal transportation
KRASNODAR. March 19 (Interfax) - Multimodal transport operator Ruscon (Novorossiysk, part of Delo Group) and logistics company Sunsko S&T Co (South Korea) plan to develop multimodal transportation between the Far East and Asia, Delo Group's press service said.
A memorandum of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics services was signed by Ruscon First Vice President Andrei Chernyshev and Sunsko S&T Co CEO Pele Zhang at the TransRussia international exhibition in Moscow.
The agreement is aimed at developing multimodal transportation using containers, as well as routes between Asia and the ports of the Far East, the press service said. The expansion of transportation geography and the opening of new routes to accelerate cargo delivery are planned.
"We expect that the agreement will be an important step towards developing a platform for sharing experience and best practices in transport logistics, opening new horizons for business and contributing to stable logistics for foreign trade," Chernyshev was quoted as saying.
Ruscon operates three container terminals located in Novorossiysk, with a capacity of 110,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), Moscow (80,000 TEU) and the Volgograd region (30,000 TEU).
