Free Port of Vladivostok resident to create vehicle assembly site in Primorye
VLADIVOSTOK. March 19 (Interfax) - Vostochny Forpost LLC (Vladivostok) will create a production site in Primorye Territory for assembling passenger and commercial vehicles, buses, vans, trailers and semi-trailers, as well as vehicle bodies, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) said.
The project will be implemented under the preferential regime of the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV), which the company is a resident of.
The first products are expected to be released in 2026, with production capacity reaching 20 vehicles per month by 2027.
According to the agreement with the FEDC, the project plans to invest 31 million rubles.
"The project concept involves constructing a production site for the large-unit assembly of vehicles from ready-made components. The establishment of new production for vehicles and vehicle bodies will meet the needs of Primorye Territory residents for passenger cars and medium-sized businesses for commercial transport," Vostochny Forpost General Director Vadim Chizhikov was quoted as saying.
He did not specify which manufacturers' vehicle kits would be used for assembly.
According to the FEDC, residents of the free port are implementing 1,813 projects in Primorye Territory, 507 of which have already been launched. A total of 493.4 billion rubles have been invested in the region's economy.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Vostochny Forpost LLC was registered in Vladivostok in January 2020. The company operates in the field of automobile production. The company's founder is its general director, Chizhikov.
The Free Port of Vladivostok regime operates in 22 municipalities across five regions of the Far East, with a minimum investment threshold of 500,000 rubles.
