Gazprom starts own production of mobile vehicle gas refuelers
MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Gazprom Gas Motor Systems LLC (Saint Petersburg) began manufacturing its first products, mobile vehicle gas refuelers (MVGR), in 2024, and thanks to this the company has seen revenue increase several times over to more than 1 billion rubles, according to the company's financial statements.
Gazprom Gas Motor Systems LLC's revenue grew to 1.159 billion rubles in 2024 from 55 million rubles in 2023, the financial statements said.
For the first time, the company's financials reflected not trading but manufacturing activities. Gazprom Gas Motor Systems LLC earned 912 million rubles from the production and sale of MVGRs in 2024, as well as 8 million rubles from the production and sale of gas cylinder equipment. Previously, the company had revenue only from the resale of purchased goods and vehicle conversion services.
The company's average headcount increased to 42 employees in 2024 from 15 employees in 2023.
Among the consumers of Gazprom Gas Motor Systems LLC's products, Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg LLC reported receiving deliveries. In January 2025, Transgaz announced that it had put a batch of five MVGR units from this supplier into industrial operation.
"The MVGR-7000 is a truck semi-trailer equipped with a special three-section container mounted on its platform. There are high-pressure cylinders, a unit for refueling the MVGR at an automotive gas-filling compressor station, and other necessary equipment inside the container, including a power supply system, a fire safety system, a gas contamination control and an automatic control system," Transgaz Yekaterinburg LLC said.
The acquisition of the new equipment will allow the company to expand the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a motor fuel, as well as for production purposes such as conducting maintenance work on gas pipelines.
MVGR units can be used to refuel methane-powered vehicles and to organize autonomous gas supply for consumers, particularly during gas pipeline maintenance. The delivered MVGR units will be deployed to company branches located in the Orenburg, Kurgan and Chelyabinsk regions.
The main shareholder of Gazprom Gas Motor Systems LLC is JSC Moscow Gas Processing Plant, a subsidiary of Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel LLC.
Gazprom Gas Motor Fuel LLC has been designated as the sole operator for the development of the gas motor fuel market in Russia. It is engaged in the sale of gas as a motor fuel and is developing a retail network of gas-filling compressor station across Russia under the Gazprom and EcoGas brands.
