Ukraine's State Border Service updates border crossing statistics

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic across the Ukrainian border fell in both directions by a total of 3% to 427,000 in the week of March 8-14 compared to the previous week.

The number of outbound crossings decreased from 222,000 to 216,000, while inbound crossings dropped from 218,000 to 211,000, Ukrainian media reported, citing data from the State Border Service.

The number of vehicles that passed across the border checkpoints declined from 117,000 to 115,000, while the number of vehicles carrying humanitarian supplies went down from 621 to 543.

According to the updated statistics provided by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe as of February 19, 2025 was estimated at 6.346 million, and globally at 6.907 million, which is 43,000 more than on January 16.

According to the most recent UN data, there are 3.665 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine itself.
