Traffic via Trans-Caspian International Transport Route up 62% to 4.5 mln tonnes in 2024

ASTANA. March 14 (Interfax) - The volume of traffic on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) increased 62% in 2024, the press service of the Kazakh Transport Ministry reported.

"Kazakhstan continues to improve logistics infrastructure and encourage domestic exporters to use the route. In 2024, the volume of traffic via TITR increased 62% to 4.5 million tonnes and container transport increased 170% to 56,500 TEU," the report says.

It is also reported that 35,600 TEUs were transported in the China-Europe direction, 27 times more than last year.

"The target for 2025 is 5.2 million tonnes, including 70,000 TEUs of container transport," the ministry said.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is an international transport corridor running through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and on to Turkey and Europe.
