Russia cuts steel product output 5.1% in Feb - Chermet Corp
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russia reduced steel product output 5.1% year-on-year to 4.6 million tonnes in February, the Chermet Corporation said, quoting preliminary data.
Output fell 2.5% to 9.6 million tonnes in January-February.
Crude steel output fell 3.2% to 5.4 million tonnes in February and 0.1% to 11.3 million tonnes in January-February.
Iron ore production fell 13% year-on-year to 8.3 million tonnes in February and fell 8.7% to 17.4 million tonnes in 2M 2025.
Pig iron production fell 9.7% to 4.1 million tonnes in February and fell 5.4% to 8.5 million tonnes in 2M.
Steel pipe production fell 0.8% to 900,000 tonnes in February but grew 3% to 1.7 million tonnes in 2M.
Chermet Corporation, established in 1991, says on its website that it works with all companies that have assets of importance in the Russian ferrous metallurgy industry.
