No changes in global environment can undermine China-Russia friendship - Chinese FM

BEIJING. March 7 (Interfax) - Friendly relations between China and Russia do not depend on any changes in the international situation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

"Irrespective of any changes in the global environment, the historical friendship between China and Russia will remain intact and will not weaken," Wang said at a press conference on the sidelines of the National People's Congress session in Beijing.

The key principles of Chinese-Russian friendly relations are non-participation in alliances, the absence of confrontation between the two countries, and the fact that these relations are not directed against any third parties, he said.

This approach to developing bilateral relations meets the core interests of the peoples of China and Russia, Wang said.
