Tatarstan refines 24.3 mln tonnes of oil in 2024, refining depth at 99.5%
MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Oil refineries in Tatarstan processed 24.3 million tonnes of oil last year, the head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, said during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
"We are already processing 24.3 million tonnes of oil, with a refining depth of 99.4%-99.5%. Taneco and TAIF-NK are state-of-the-art, modernized enterprises," he said.
SIBUR enterprises are also developing, Minnikhanov said: "Of course, significant work is underway within the SIBUR group - this includes Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Kazanorgsintez . This year, its largest Ethylene-600 complex is being launched. Six hundred thousand [tonnes] of ethylene - that's as much as Nizhnekamsk currently produces, and its derivatives will be produced. Orgsintez [Kazanorgsintez] is undergoing major modernization," he said.
The region's share in the country's gross domestic product is 3%, Minnikhanov said. "Tatarstan accounts for 24% of polyethylene [in the country's GDP], 41% of rubber, 61% of truck tires, 30% of trucks and 7% of oil production."
Tatarstan's gross regional product amounted to 5.2 trillion rubles in 2024. "We have restrictions on oil production; otherwise, these figures would be even higher," he said.
