EBRD confirms Tajikistan's GDP growth forecast at 7% for 2025
DUSHANBE. March 3 (Interfax) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecasts that Tajikistan's GDP will grow 7% in 2025 and 5.7% in 2026, according to the bank's updated Regional Economic Prospects report.
The EBRD thus confirmed its previous GDP growth forecast for 2025 which was published in September 2024.
Economic growth in the coming years will continue amid infrastructure investment, the EBRD said.
The estimate for the country's GDP growth in 2024 has been raised from 8% to 8.4%. The economy also expanded 8.4% in January-September last year.
"Real GDP grew by 8.4% in the first three quarters of the year as both private and public investments expanded, the latter on the back of Rogun dam construction and progress on other infrastructure projects. Sector-wise, growth was broad-based, with expansions in industry, services and agriculture," the bank said.
According to the Tajik Economy Ministry's forecast, the country's GDP will grow 8.4% in 2025, 8% in 2026 and 8.2% in 2027.
