Russian grain harvest 125.856 mln tonnes, including 82.588 mln tonnes wheat, in 2024 - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - The Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat) has published final Russian 2024 harvest data.
It said the grain harvest at farms of all categories - agricultural organizations, private and subsistence farms - amounted to 125.856 million tonnes, including 82.588 million tonnes of wheat. The winter wheat harvest fell to 56.717 million tonnes in 2024 from 63.841 million tonnes a year earlier, and spring wheat to 25.871 million tonnes from 29.01 million tonnes.
Russia harvested 144.9 million tonnes of grain, including 92.8 million tonnes of wheat, in 2023.
Rosstat also said the rye harvest last year fell to 1.165 million tonnes from 1.709 million tonnes in 2023, barley to 16.677 million tonnes from 21.147 million tonnes and corn to 13.954 million tonnes from 16.622 million tonnes. The rice harvest was 1.259 million tonnes against 1.073 million tonnes a year earlier, buckwheat 1.208 million tonnes and 1.475 million tonnes, respectively, oats 3.029 million tonnes and 3.304 million tonnes and millet 324,000 tonnes and 450,000 tonnes.
The grain legumes harvest was 5.371 million tonnes against 5.954 million tonnes, including 3.809 million tonnes of peas against 4.717 million tonnes.
The sunflower harvest fell to 16.892 million tonnes from 17.259 million tonnes, soybeans increased to 7.055 million tonnes from 6.826 million tonnes and rapeseed grew to 4.656 million tonnes in 2024 from 4.204 million tonnes in 2023.
Russia harvested 45.116 million tonnes of sugar beet compared with 53.137 million tonnes a year previously. The flax fiber harvest increased to 26,100 tonnes from 20,200 tonnes.
