Kazakhstan Railways' former senior manager Nagaspayev appointed industry and construction minister

ASTANA. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has relieved Industry and Construction Minister Kanat Sharlapayev of his duties as per decree, the president's press service said.

"Kanat Bisimbayevich Sharlapayev has been appointed assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on economic issues as per decree of the head of state, and he has been relieved of his duties in the previously held position," according to the presidential decree.

Sharlapayev had been Kazakhstan's industry and construction minister since September 2023.

Ersayin Nagaspayev has been appointed as the country's new Minister of Industry and Construction, the president's press service said.

Nagaspayev was Managing Director for New Projects at Kazakhstan's Temir Zholy, Kazakhstan Railways, state railway operator prior to his appointment.
