Former Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Bocharov appointed first deputy CEO of UAC
MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Former Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Oleg Bocharov has been appointed first deputy CEO of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation , a subsidiary of Rostec, the company said.
"His main areas of responsibility will include the corporation's strategic development and the implementation of government programs, including in civil aircraft manufacturing," it said.
Bocharov held the position of deputy industry and trade minister for eight years, overseeing the aviation and light industries as well as the forestry sector. Rumors of his departure from the ministry emerged last autumn amid broader personnel changes in the aviation industry. In November, the CEO of UAC also changed - Yury Slyusar was replaced by Vadim Badekha, who previously led another Rostec entity, United Engine Corporation.
From 2014 to 2017, Bocharov headed the Moscow authorities' Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship. From 1997 to 2013, he served as a deputy in the Moscow City Duma.
Bocharov graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute with a degree in aviation engines and power plants and from the Russian Presidential Academy of Public Administration with a degree in Jurisprudence.
