UGC head Dmitry Sergeyev elected chairman of Russian Union of Grain Exporters
MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - The head of United Grain Company (UGC), Dmitry Sergeyev, has been elected board chairman of the Union of Grain Exporters and Producers, UGC said.
The decision was made at the union's general meeting of members which took place on Tuesday. Sergeyev replaced Eduard Zernin in this position, who has led the Union since its inception.
Before being appointed the CEO of UGC, Sergeyev served as Deputy Agriculture Minister and previously held executive positions at Russian Agricultural Bank.
At the end of January, the deputy head of UGC, Ksenia Bolomatova, was elected as the union's executive director.
Zernin remains on the union's board. He is a beneficiary of the Bio-Ton corporation, which ranks among the top ten crop production companies in Russia and is the largest in the Volga region.
The Union of Grain Exporters was established in 2019 and brings together the largest Russian and international grain producers and exporters, accounting for approximately 80% of Russian grain exports.
