Ak Bars, Uralsib, Tochka, Sinara, number of other Russian banks to be disconnected from SWIFT as of March 17 - EU official journal
MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Ak Bars , Uralsib , Tochka, Sinara, Roseximbank, National Reserve Bank (NRB ) and a number of other Russian financial institutions will be disconnected from SWIFT as of March 17, 2025, according to a publication in the European Union's official journal.
The list includes 13 financial institutions overall, including Primsotsbank , BBR Bank, Mirbusinessbank, Kuznetskbusinessbank, and Kuban-Credit Bank in addition to the six banks already listed, and NCO Petersburg Settlement Center and RNKO Payment Constructor will also be disconnected from SWIFT.
The EU has also imposed sanctions against the Black Sea Bank for Development and Reconstruction.
The EU is adapting its objectives to developments in the Russian economy that currently relies heavily on regional institutions, specifically to circumvent sanctions, by designating the entities that process cross-border payments and play an important role in circumventing EU sanctions, the EU said.
