EU adds SCF Arctica to sanctions list
MOSCOW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - European Union authorities have included Sovcomflot subsidiary SCF Arctica LLC in the 16th package of sanctions against Russia, according to a publication in the EU's official journal.
The sanctions list also includes Invest Flot LLC and Yuzhny Flot LLC that are associated with SCF Arctica, according to the EU.
The EU has also added 74 tankers that do not belong to EU countries to the lists as part of the new sanctions package.
They include the tankers Yuri Senkevich, Belgorod, Bratsk, Nikolay Zadornov, Victor Konetsky, Viktor Titov, Pavel Chernysh, Captain Kostichev, Mermar, Surrey Quays, Nichole, Crius, Great Jacombo, Chen Lu, Bull, Huihai Pacific, Kudos Stars, Udaya, Merope, PRS Ocean, Stratos Aurora, Mercury, Neer 1, Kiwala, Andaman Skies, Voyager, Kareliya, Kazan, Kotlas, Ligovsky Prospect, NS Leader, Prosperity, Sapphire, Pacific, Primorye, Shturman Albanov and Symphony.
The sanctions list also includes the vessels Asher, Carl, Deliver, Facca, Lang Ya, Minerva M, Moti, Ocean Faye, Serena, Sea Fidelity, Swiftsea Rider, Aquatica, Ederra, Eventin, Pravasi, Sauri, Temiro and East Energy.
Also sanctioned are the tankers Zaliv Vostok, Zaliv Aniva, Lokosao, Madhav, Atlas, Metagas Everest, T Cereal, Viktor Bakaev, Fiora, Noble, Unity, Sikar, Anatoly Kolodkin, Wilma II, Lorena Grand, Corum, Xiwang, Azure Celeste and Aria.
Most of the vessels hit by the new sanctions have been transporting Russian oil and oil products. According to the EU statement, 153 vessel are now sanctioned.
