Foreign companies probing information field for prospects of return to Russia, no legal requests made yet - Russian minister

NAYPYIDAW. Feb 24 (Interfax) - Western companies are probing the information field regarding their prospects of returning to Russia, no legal requests have been made yet, in any case, the Russian business community, which made great investments will be a priority, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said on Sunday.

"We have not received any legal requests yet. But they are clearly probing the information space," Reshetnikov told reporters, answering a question whether foreign companies have already requested to return to Russia and on what conditions it could happen.

"The matter is another thing, that the entire wave of reports has shaken our business quite seriously. Because people are investing money, and they still expect some predictability. Someone [has invested] in dressmaking, production of goods, promotion, and so on. And it is really important for us, of course, that this money does not burn down," he said.

"This is why we will treat it [possible requests of western companies to resume their operations in Russia] individually, of course, we will look into it very carefully," he said.
