National Bank of Ukraine names most profitable banks of 2024
MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The state-owned PrivatBank remained the most profitable bank in Ukraine last year, boosting net profit 6.3% to UAH 40.14 billion, Ukrainian media reported, quoting National Bank of Ukraine data.
PrivatBank was followed by two more state-owned banks, Oschadbank and Ukreximbank. Oschadbank increased its net profit almost 2.5-fold to UAH 14.83 billion, leapfrogging Ukreximbank which was third with UAH 5.56 billion, up 71% from the previous year.
Banks with foreign capital, Raiffeisen and OTP, came fourth and fifth. Raiffeisen's net profit fell 10.6% to UAH 4.28 billion, while OTP increased it by 10.9% to UAH 4.12 billion.
The second five most profitable banks of 2024 were headed by Credit Agricole, which increased its net profit 46.5% to UAH 4.09 billion. It also included UkrSibbank with UAH 4.08 billion, down 3.4%, FUIB with UAH 3.94 billion, down 0.3%, Sense Bank with UAH 3.81 billion, up 33.3%, and Universal Bank (mono), which almost double its net profit last year to UAH 3.72 billion.
Four more banks had net profit exceeding UAH 1 billion: Citibank with UAH 3.34 billion, down 6.9%, Ukrgasbank with UAH 2.91 billion, up 50.4%, and Pivdenny Bank and A-Bank, which increased their net profit 2.2-fold and 2.9-fold to UAH 2 billion and UAH 1.36 billion, respectively.
