Russia, UAE aim to strengthen dialogue between both countries' financial institutions
MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Russia and the UAE intend to strengthen the dialogue between the financial institutions of both countries.
This possibility was discussed during negotiations between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev and UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister and First Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the press service of the Russian deputy prime minister said.
In addition to cooperation in the financial and banking sector, the parties also discussed prospects for collaboration in agriculture.
"The trade turnover in agricultural products and food between our countries increased by almost a third last year. We expect that this positive trend will continue this year," Patrushev was quoted as saying by the press service.
Russia is ready to increase supplies of grain, meat and confectionery products to the UAE, he said. The production and export of halal products, which meet all UAE standards, are actively developing in Russia.
