Russia's Digital Development Ministry not planning to incentivize return of foreign IT companies to local market - minister
YEKATERINBURG. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Russia's Digital Development Ministry does not intend to create additional incentives for foreign IT companies to return to the local market, and continues to support domestic developers, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev told Interfax on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Cybersecurity in Finance forum.
A number of media outlets and Telegram channels earlier reported that a number of retail companies that had exited the Russian market planned to return.
"The Digital Development Ministry is not discussing and does not plan to create additional incentives for foreign IT companies to return to the Russian market," Shadayev said.
Meantime, Shadayev said that the regulation related to transferring critical information infrastructure facilities to Russian solutions "is planned to be tightened further, extending the requirements to standard facilities in non-governmental organizations as well."
Moreover, Shadayev recalled that the Digital Development Ministry has prepared amendments to the rules for accrediting IT companies that is required to receive various benefits, and stipulating that only companies with Russian control may receive this accreditation.
