Moldovan authorities planning to close Russian Science and Culture Center

CHISINAU. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The Russian Science and Culture Center will be closed in Moldova, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry's press service said on Thursday.

"The Foreign Ministry has decided to unilaterally denounce the Moldovan-Russian Intergovernmental Agreement on the Establishment and Operation of Cultural Centers concluded in 1998. Once the agreement is terminated, the Russian Cultural Center will stop working in our country," the press service said.

Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Ozerov was summoned to the Moldovan Foreign Ministry and given a related note on Thursday.

The ministry said Chisinau planned to take the measure in response to the trespassing of its airspace by drones, which Moldova said, "pose a serious threat to national security."
