Tajikistan cuts exports of goods 20.5%, boosts imports 19.2% in 2024

DUSHANBE. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Tajikistan's exports of goods totaled $1.947 billion in 2024, down 20.5% compared to 2023, according to data from the country's Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic.

The country's main importers in 2024 were China and Switzerland, accounting for 21.1% and 19.4% of total Tajik exports, respectively, followed by Turkey (12.3%), Kazakhstan (10.1%) and Uzbekistan (9.1%).

Tajikistan's imports of goods in 2024 amounted to $7.008 billion, up 19.2% year-on-year. The leading suppliers were Russia at 26.9% of total imports, China (22.1%) and Kazakhstan (15.6%).

Exports significantly exceeded imports in trade operations with Switzerland ($29.4 million) and Afghanistan ($91.1 million), the agency said.

Tajikistan conducted foreign trade with 121 countries in 2024, including ten CIS countries and 111 non-CIS countries.
