Rosatom unit postpones launch of wind farm in Rostov Region to 2026 - authorities
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 12 (Interfax) - JSC VetroOGK-2, a subsidiary of Rosatom Group, has postponed the launch of a 100 MW wind farm in the Morozovsky district of Rostov Region until 2026, the southern Russian region's deputy governor, Igor Sorokin told Interfax.
"Wind monitoring has been completed, preparations for design are underway, with the launch in 2026," Sorokin said.
The wind farm was previously scheduled to go into operation in 2025. Rostov Region now has six operating wind farms.
Rosatom set up wind power division NovaWind in 2017 to consolidate the group's assets in this sector, including VetroOGK and then VetroOGK-2. NovaWind has already put 780 MW of wind power capacity into operation in Russia and it plans to build about 1.7 GW of wind capacity by 2027.
